StoryPhones Bring Portable Storytelling to Sam’s Club, Target for the Holidays
StoryPhones, a screen-free alternative, and kid-friendly audio device, will be available at Target and Sam’s Club stores nationwide starting Nov. 1. StoryPhones are smart, portable, and wireless audio headphones designed for kids. The Bluetooth headphones use interchangeable magnetic discs, StoryShields, to tell stories.
StoryShields are easy for kids to use. When attached to StoryPhones, you can download the story to the device’s memory, allowing for playback offline. Kids can gain important skills offline and offscreen while fostering a love for storytelling. Stories are easy to play, pause, and stop. Each of the stories presents age-appropriate content from educational material to Disney favorites, like The Lion King, Cinderella, and Frozen. Caregivers and parents can narrate and record stories for kids, too.
Kids can also use ZenShield. Similar to StoryShield, these magnetic discs soothe overstimulated kids and help them relax with soothing music and calm sounds, such as ocean waves.
ONANOFF, StoryPhones’ parent company, says StoryPhones contribute to improved sleep and focus in kids. In a study of their own, they found that 85% of learning is through listening, while audio content increases reading accuracy (by 52%), motivation, and comprehension.
The headphones retail online and in stores for $99.99. StoryShields are $9.99. Sam’s Club plans to sell StoryShields bundles for $39.99. Caregivers can find more information about StoryPhones online at storyphones.com.
