The Toy & Game International Excellence (TAGIE) Awards, hosted by People of Play, will air as part of an hour-long special on Jan. 18 on CBS. The TAGIEs celebrate and honor inventors, designers, and innovators behind the world’s most beloved toys and games. The ceremony was held Nov. 8 in Chicago.
“Today’s consumers want to feel a connection with the products they buy,” said Mary Couzin, Senior Vice President and Founder of People of Play at The Toy Association. “The people behind our popular playthings are as fascinating, making this special a powerful way to engage audiences of all ages.”
The awards will air as part of the Toys of Our Lives series, highlighting the people behind popular and beloved toys. The TAGIES ceremony celebrated winners in nine categories and three Lifetime Achievement Award honorees, including Mary Danby, Dan Romanelli, and Alan Dorfman. It is hosted by Karri Bean, Senior Manager of LEGO at Disney Consumer Products
The TAGIE ceremony will be broadcast in major U.S. markets, including New York, Boston, Detroit, Dallas/Fort Worth, Atlanta, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Sacramento, Tampa Bay, and more.
