TOKYOPOP Hires Owais Farooqui As Director of Marketing & Sales

TOKYOPOP, a distributor, licensor, and publisher of anime, has hired Owais Farooqui as its Director of Marketing and Sales. He will expand the global audience for TOKYOPOP’S portfolio, which includes Battle Royale and Sailor Moon. TOKYOPOP also holds IPs for Disney, Mattel, and Ubisoft properties.

Farooqui has served in similar roles at King Digital, Yahoo!, Atari, and Discovery Communications. He has spearheaded brand growth, managed high-performing teams, and built brands in these roles. He is passionate about manga, anime, gaming, and pop culture. At TOKYOPOP, Farooqui will lead sales and marketing initiatives for the company in publishing, e-commerce, merchandise, anime, and video games.
